STARRING: Kate England and Ashley Lane

Clean, but starting to feel awful, Kate steps out of the shower, wrapping herself in her robe and woozily walks out into her sister’s bedroom. She sits down on the edge of the bed, holding her head. She has no idea what’s wrong with her but something doesn’t feel right. Her sister, Ashley, tells her to lie down and rest.

As she’s starting to lay down, she collapses without warning onto the floor. Panicked, Ashley shakes her, but her sister is unresponsive. She shakes her, calling her name, telling her to wake up, rolling her over.

She checks her pulse, and then opens her robe and starts to give her CPR. She administers chest compressions, trying to keep her calm even though it’s really hard to see her sister like this. Pinching her nose between her thumb and forefinger with one hand and opening her mouth with the other, she breathes into her sister’s mouth. Her belly inflates, but she’s still unresponsive.

Ashley repeats this procedure several times, with no real results. So she calls 9-11 and asks them to send someone. The dispatcher asks if she knows CPR. She does; their father was a paramedic. Instead of wasting time trying to send someone, Ashley digs out the defibrillator from her dad’s old things and has the dispatcher walk her through the process over the phone.

She attaches the AED pads to Kate’s chest, and continues the procedure. She keeps checking her pulse intermittently, and keeps trying the defibrillator. Kate’s body arches with the electric pulse, and Ashley continues administering CPR.

Relentless in her endeavor to save her beloved sister, she doesn’t give up. But after almost 15 minutes, she loses a pulse. She did her best, but her sister is gone forever.
