“What could have possibly happened to her?” Out of the myriad of thoughts that went through Dr. Wild’s head as he looked at the ravaged corpse before him, they all came back to this one. Where she may have been a fresh-faced girl-next-door type, full of life with her whole future in front of her, her body lay limp and still on the cold, metal table. Dr. Wild was no first year pathology intern, he had seen his share of the dead, several even younger than this poor unfortunate woman, but he had rarely seen this level of violence brought upon another human being.

He picked up a set of surgical sheers and began cutting the flower print dress and white, cotton panties off of her body. Shreds of her clothing pulled away, revealing not only her trim, youthful body, but also the numerous contusions and abrasions, turning much of her pale, smooth skin to reds and dark purples. It appeared that she had been beaten mercilessly, before being brutally strangled. Her last moments must have been agony.

Grimly, the doctor examines her body in minute detail. Photos and finger prints, black light and nail scrapings; if any evidence that he gathers helps put away whatever monster it was that did this, his attention to detail with have been worth the time. It’s going to be a long night, as everywhere the doctor looks, he finds more evidence of violence and hate.
